Awareness

When you ask a person whether he is aware of himself, as a rule, you would hear explanations that are more related to some kind of analysis of a situation that seems important lately or with the state of affairs in general. And this is at best, at worst, a person will say that of course he is aware of himself, apparently implying that he just knows his name.

Of course, for those who are seriously engaged in various practices, meditations and other techniques designed to lead to awakening or enlightenment, the word “awareness” means something else, more voluminous, associated with the ability to calm your mind, to interrupt perpetual stream of thoughts, with attempts to stay more time in the present moment, with the experience of high states, etc. In this sense, “awareness” for such people is already a word that means a whole big world, into which one so wants to enter.

“Awareness” in the full sense means the ability to be aware of your own being, which means that you really live through every moment of life, that you are aware of your thoughts that come and go, your whole body, your emotions, sensations, feelings, everything that happens directly around you, this in fact, is exactly  being itself.

Even the approach to this will surprise you incredibly, and you will see how much you did not understand what is meant by real awareness, that until now, in fact, you have not even tried to be more aware!
